About the scorecard
Is this confidential?
Yes. Your answers are used only to prepare your report and, if you’d like, a follow-up conversation with our team. Nothing you share is ever passed to buyers.
How is my score calculated?
Each answer is scored against what buyers typically look for, and weighted by how strongly it tends to affect value and deal terms. Owner dependence, recurring revenue and customer concentration carry the most weight. Your overall score is out of 100, with a separate score for each of the five areas.
Is this a valuation?
No. The scorecard measures how ready your business is for a sale, not what it is worth. Two businesses with the same earnings can sell for very different prices and terms depending on these factors. If you’d like a view of value, we offer business valuations.
I’m not planning to sell for years. Is this still useful?
That is the best time to take it. Most of the factors that raise value — reducing owner dependence, building recurring revenue and producing clean financials — take two to three years to show up in results buyers can verify.
What happens after I get my results?
Your answers are graded instantly, your results appear on screen, and your full report is emailed to you as a PDF. A member of our team may reach out personally to offer a no-obligation review of your results. There is no cost and no pressure — many of the owners we speak with are years away from a sale.
